Plans are already taking place for this year’s Farington Fun Day.
Farington Parish Council has been in touch with South Ribble Council seeking its help towards organising the family fun event this summer.
A meeting is due to take place to look at what help could be provided by South Ribble Council.
This year’s fun day will take place on Saturday, July 9, at Farington Park.
Mike Otter, Farington parish councillor and Lancashire County councillor for Farington, said: “We’re looking at getting support from officers at South Ribble.
“They have the list of contacts for various groups, stalls that set up on fun day and we’re just after those.
“South Ribble are responsible for the park and we’re responsible for the event.”
He said it is hoped this year’s event can follow the success of previous years.
“Last year went very, very well,” said councillor Otter.
“People didn’t know what a nice park we have in Leyland - we look at it as a hidden gem.
“We’re hoping to do something like last year, with bouncy castle and various things for the children.”
A spokesperson from South Ribble Borough Council said: “We are more than happy to meet with Farington Parish Council regarding their fun day.
“South Ribble Borough Council have been involved with Farington Fun Day for several years and would be happy to discuss what we can offer in terms of support going forward.”
