A former Runshaw College student battling life-threatening injuries from a quad-bike incident in Australia remains in a stable condition.

Holly Raper, 20, from Chorley, is currently being treated at Royal Preston Hospital but is still in a coma after the incident in December in Australia.

Ann Harrison, who is a close family friend, said: “We are just waiting to see if she gets better.

“It is going to be a long haul before she can get back.

“The doctors are not concerned about her and they have to get nursing her back.

“It was a very long trip back and there could have been lots of complications but she came through it fine.”

More than £17,000 has been raised for the Help Holly Home campaign organised by the Cavendish Arms where she used to work.

Ann said: “This money will hopefully be used to help with Holly’s long-term treatment.

“The family would love for her to move back home someday and it will cost some money to get their house ready for that so this could help.”
