A talented Leyland musician is preparing to perform live to the nation tonight in a reality show’s semi-finals.
Graham Blackledge, who works at Rimmers Music in Leyland, soared through the audition process of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, after impressing Alesha Dixon and David Walliams with his organ act.
Despite not winning Simon Cowell’s vote, he has still managed to earn himself a place in the live rounds, which are taking place throughout this week.
In his first audition, the dad-of-four charmed the Blackpool Opera House audience with his rendition of ‘La Bamba’ and his natural ability as a stand-up comedian.
Tonight he will take to the stage and compete against a variety of acts, after enduring a full day of rehearsals.
He hopes to bag himself a place in the Saturday final, which airs at 7.30pm, and if a previous Guardian interview with the star is anything to go by, it seems that Graham has a few new tricks up his sleeve.
He said: “I am working on a few ideas, in case I do get through.
“I am over the moon and really excited.”
Last night saw Ashleigh and her dancing dog Pudsey, and boy choir ‘Only Boys Aloud’ crowned as semi-final winners.
Boyband ‘The Mend’ narrowly missed out on a spot, after Simon Cowell took the final decision to deadlock.
