A financial adviser from Leyland who turned an occasional tweet into a personal crusade has featured in a flagship documentary on national television.

Greg Heath, a director with Derbyshire Booth Financial Management in Yewlands Drive, recently appeared in the opening programme of the Channel 4 flagship documentary series Dispatches.

Last summer, Greg was growing increasingly concerned about the numbers of fraudulent pension switching inquiries he was receiving, and posted his views on Twitter.

Media interest snowballed and soon after, he was on his way to Channel 4’s London studios to be grilled by renowned reporter Michael Buerk.

This month, Greg appeared in the opening programme of the new Dispatches series ‘How to Blow Your Pension’.

He said: “Broadcast was delayed, largely due to Michael Buerk’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here commitments.

“We filmed it months ago, it lasted more than two hours with lots of content, but this resulted in a 10-second clip when broadcast.

“The original programme was on the rise of pension scams, but they changed the format to focus on the new pension flexibility.

“Needless to say, it was a great experience, and to think it all started with a single tweet.”
