The organiser of the Leyland Live music festival is buzzing today after another successful event.

Nigel Stewart, who arranged for around 100 acts to perform on Friday and Saturday nights across 18 different venues across the town, says there will definitely be another helping of Leyland Live next year.

“I’m fired up now,” he said. “We did two Leyland Live events last year and so far this year we’ve done Penwortham Live and now this weekend’s event, and I’m also working towards a Chorley Live later this year.

“We had double the number of venues and more acts taking part this year compared to last summer in Leyland, and the majority of places were jam packed.

“The feedback has been absolutely brilliant; it’s just blown me away.

“We don’t have final numbers yet about how many people attended, but we sold 1,200 wristbands last year, and I think we exceeded that this time.

“We had a wider range of acts and the quality was just fantastic. I’m so pleased with how well it all went.”
