Leyland men charged over child images

Two Leyland men have been charged with making indecent images of children.

Mental health worker Nicholas Howard, 52, of Wray Crescent, has been charged with 10 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, three counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child, and possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Alan Skelhorn, 54, of St David’s Road, has been charged with three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.

They are among 14 to be accused of offences following Operation Toledo, a Lancashire police operation on child sexual exploitation, though police said each are separate cases.

The other men are from Blackburn, Oswaldtwistle, Blackpool, Fulwood, Morecambe, Poulton-Le-Fylde, Broadgate in Preston, Burnley and Rawtenstall.

They entered no pleas and will all appear before Preston Crown Court on June 17 for hearings.

A man from Chorley who was arrested on suspicion of possessing an indecent image of a child is due to answer bail.
