A man was seriously injured following a crash in Euxton, near Chorley on Wednesday morning.
It happened shortly after 9am on Runshaw Lane when a Vauxhall Corsa which was travelling towards Dawbers Lane lost control on a series of bends and crossed the carriageway before colliding with a Volvo that was travelling in the opposite direction. The Vauxhall then collided with a tree on the offside of the carriageway.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a 23 year old man from Morecambe, sustained serious injuries to his head and neck and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
PS Mick Young of the Road Policing Unit said: “An investigation into how this collision occurred is underway and I would urge anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward and contact us.”
