Men fined after police uncover cannabis plants

Two Leyland men have been fined after police found 20 cannabis plants during a raid on their home.

Francis James Fleming, 34, and Graham Stockford, 34, both of Leyland Lane, pleaded guilty to producing the class B drug when they appeared at South Ribble Magistrates’ Court.

They were each fined £300, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15, plus court costs of £85. They must pay it back at a rate of £25 a week.

The two men were arrested and charged after police in Leyland executed a drugs warrant on August 19.

20 cannabis plants and hydroponic equipment were found in the raid, which was carried out as a result of intelligence gathered from the local community.
