Primary school children donned old-fashioned dress and got into historical characters during a fun day.

Children at Westwood Primary School in Clayton-le-Woods enjoyed a ‘Living Museum’ night with their parents and grandparents, who donated artifacts for the exhibition.

Teacher Sharon Mills said: “Each classroom had a different historical theme and the children dressed up as ‘living statues’.

“Whenever somebody walked past, they’d come to life and play a part, explaining what their character did and how they lived.” The night also included crafts, a Punch and Judy show, Tudor dancing and a Victorian tea room.
