Off-licence raiders escape with £700 haul

A Leyland off-licence was hit by a gang who stole more than £700 of alcohol.

News and Booze, on Canberra Road, was the target of thieves on August 11.

The burglars broke into the shop around 4.45am.

They smashed a ground-floor window and got into the stock room, where they took alcohol and sweets totalling £730.

The haul included Gordon’s gin, Jack Daniels, Malibu, Pernot, various vodka drinks, Southern Comfort, and cider.

They also took some items of chocolate.
