People across Lancashire have been enjoying the celestial display of the Aurora Borealis - or Northern Lights.
The phenomenon is caused by eruptions on the surface of the Sun, and this most recent activity has been unexpectedly strong.
Usually only seen in the far northern hemisphere, on Tuesday night people in Lancashire were able to see the amazing light show.
Jason Smalley, of Jason Smalley Photography, managed to grab these amazing pictures of the lights from Winter Hill, near Rivington.
