Our website gets a makeover

WELCOME to the new website for the Leyland Guardian.

The new-look leyland-guardian.co.uk works differently to the old one, making it simpler to navigate and easier on the eye.

All sections are accessible direct from the home page using the drop-down menus at the top and a sitemap along the bottom.

Pictures are bigger and commenting on articles will be more strictly controlled - signalling the end of random and serial deleters.

There will be tighter guidelines on adding and removing comments beneath articles. Any posting reported unsuitable will be checked first by Guardian staff and, if appropriate, then deleted before it disappears off the site.

Stories are divided into four main categories of news, sport, lifestyle and community, each of which leads to relevant sub-sections. Headlines and stories run across three columns.

Some readers might need time getting used to the new site and, initially, finding the content they want; for example, it’s worth noting that the long list of news stories will in future be found by clicking on Local under News in the dropdown menu.

And not all sections may be fully populated when we go live due to the huge effort involved in filling a new website, so please be patient.

We also welcome your constructive comments and suggestions as to how we may continue to improve our online offering.
