Families across the county are planning to whisk up a treat today as they celebrate Pancake Day.
People have stocked up on lemon, sugar, chocolate spread and bananas for Shrove Tuesday, as they prepare to throw pancakes around their kitchens.
In Preston, staff at the Ultimate Cafe have their frying pans at the ready for their favourite time of the year.
The cafe, within Ultimate Outdoors on Deepdale Shopping Park, is offering customers traditional favourites and sweet stack variations.
Director of Ultimate Cafe Nichola Lee said: “Having built a reputation for being a number one pancakes provider, Shrove Tuesday is certainly our favourite time of year, as with many of our customers.
“From nostalgic classics such as lemon and sugar to Nutella coated indulgences, not forgetting our American Maple Syrup and Bacon which perfectly combines the sweet and savoury balance, we’ve certainly got something for everyone.”
Savoury pancake options include chicken and mushroom, ham and cheese and smoked salmon with rocket and cream cheese.
Visitors with a sweet tooth can enjoy flavours such as Nutella, maple syrup, peanut butter and banana and toffee.
Director Andrea Edwards added: “Pancake Day is a fantastic opportunity to have some fun and try out our famous pancakes.
“In addition to enjoying our signature flavours, we are also encouraging our customers to get creative and devise their own unique topping combinations.”
