Police today appealed for witnesses following a collision in Ormskirk on Friday.

Police were called just after 11pm to reports of the collision involving a Ford Fiesta.

The car had been travelling South on Altys Lane when it collided with a stone wall and a concrete lamppost before landing on its roof in a nearby field.

The driver – a 19-year-old-man – was taken to hospital to be treated for back injuries.

Sergeant Lee Harris of Lancashire’s Road Policing Unit: “We are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and would appeal to anyone who witnessed it, or saw the vehicle in the moments leading up to the collision, to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 1944 of July 27.
