Police are hunting a ‘flasher’ who jumped naked out of bushes in a South Ribble park and exposed himself to school children.

Officers have received six separate reports of a man in or around Hurst Grange Park on Cop Lane, Penwortham, in the past four months.

The latest incidents, at around 3.45pm on Thursday and Friday last week, came after children on a school bus reported seeing a naked man in an area of woodland on Leyland Road taking photographs.

Det Insp John Entwisle said: “Thankfully nobody has come to any harm as a result of these incidents; however the children involved have, understandably, been left distressed by what has happened.

“We have spoken with schools in the area to offer reassurance. We need to identify this man as soon as possible.”

The first four incidents, which happened in June and July, saw a man emerge naked from bushes in Hurst Grange Park at times between 2.30pm and 4.30pm and approach groups of school girls who were passing.

On the most recent occasion, a white man was seen wearing a piece of clothing wrapped around his head as he took photographs in the woods on Leyland Road.
