Twenty suspected cannabis plants were seized by police after a raid on a house in Leyland.

Officers stormed a house on Durham Close and found three mature plants, a harvested plant and a number of seedlings in the upstairs bedroom and attic.

PC Steve Gallery, community beat manager for Wade Hall, said they executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act based on information received by members of the public.

He said: “This is another example of us working with communities to tackle their concerns.

“We carried out this warrant as a result of information we received from residents. We do act on all intelligence relating to drugs and I would urge communities to continue to tell us about any suspicious activity.”

The raid happened at around 4pm on July 6.

A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and abstracting electricity.

He has since been released from custody pending further enquiries.

If you have concerns about drugs you can report it to police on 0845 1253545 or to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
