St Annes Old Links Golf Club has been chosen as an important stepping-stone to the 2018 Open Championship.

The course is a final qualifying venue for the 2018 Open at Carnoustie and for the next three Championships after that until 2021.
The competition will give golfers one of the last chances to get into the final line-up for the most prestigious golf championship in the world.
Old Links has previously hosted final qualifying for the Amateur Championship in 2007, the local final qualifying for The Open in 2012, the English Women’s Amateur Strokeplay Championship in 2015 and in August 2017, will host the boys' home internationals.
Old Links captain Colin Nicoll said: “We are obviously delighted that the R&A have yet again shown faith in the club to host such a prestigious event. "It reflects the high standards and hard work undertaken by the club, the course manager and his team in delivering a challenging Championship course with magnificent greens”.
Some of the world's best players are expected to assemble at Old Links, which is one of four courses chosen for qualifying in July, 2018.
The others are the Prince’s Golf Club in Kent, Hollinwell in Nottinghamshire and The Renaissance Club in East Lothian.
