Five Leyland students scooped top prizes for their media skills.
The Year 9 pupils from Leyland St Mary’s Catholic Technology College travelled to London to compete in the Shine School Media Awards.
Jack Bamber, Heather Baynes, Ciaron Dunne, Jack Hardwick and Victoria Illsley were highly commended for their magazine ‘Creative Worlds’.
Judges gave them top scores for Best Cover Design, Best Commercial Strategy and Most Outstanding Pupil at the finals at Stationers’ Hall, in the capital.
Awards were presented by Sir Christopher Meyer, who was previously chairman of the Press Complaints Commission.
