Tributes have been paid to a former Runshaw College tutor who has died following a short illness.
Steve Bagshaw taught geography and geology at the Leyland campus for 30 years, and is described as being ‘much loved by staff and students’.
Giles Inman, head of humanities, said: “Steve had a great love for his subject and inspired his students.
“He had a fantastic knowledge of his subject and he was keen to develop his students’ experience with practical activities and field trips.
“Steve developed a friendly and positive relationship with his students and was very well liked.”
He added: “On a personal level, I have never worked with a more positive colleague.
“Steve was always happy, he was always very supportive and encouraging to his colleagues.
“We will miss him greatly.”
Mr Bagshaw, who lived in Derby, left the college in 2007.
He was taken ill in January with pancreatitis, and died in hospital last Wednesday.
