The family of a jogger who died in a road crash in Bamber Bridge has paid tribute to a “loving and caring father”.
Jan Kröll, from Germany, died on Wednesday last week when he was jogging on the grass verge of Wigan Road.
He is believed to have fallen into the carriageway where he was involved in a collision with an oncoming lorry.
He suffered head injuries and died at the scene.
A statement from his family said: “Jan Kröll, 31, a loving and caring father of two little children (a son aged two and a daughter aged five).
“Jan tragically passed away during a business trip organised by his employer Dr. Oetker.
“Amongst his colleagues Jan was popular and appreciated for his dedication and knowledge.
“Jan will leave a huge void with his friends and family, who have always been his focus and priority.
“We will never forget his exceptional sense of humour, optimism and his positive attitude.”
