Residents in parts of Leyland, Bamber Bridge, Lostock Hall, Walton-le-Dale and Croston temporarily lost their water supply earlier today.

United Utilities were made aware of a damaged pipe that was leaking in Leyland Lane, Leyland at 10.45.

The leak affected residents of PR5 and PR26 postcodes but the water supply has now been restored.

A spokesman for United Utilities said: “Repairs are under way.

“The road isn’t closed and all supplies have been restored.

“But some people’s water pressure may be lower than usual until the pipe is fully fixed.”The water company revealed they had over 100 calls about the issue and believe the problem occurred because of a damaged pipe.

The spokesman said: “It looks like it is a pipe that has been damaged by a third party.

“It is affected quite a few people, we have had over 100 calls.”
