A female driver is to face trial over an accident which left a cyclist with serious injuries.

Theresa Marie Edwards, 55, of Mercer Road, Lostock Hall, appeared at Leyland Magistrates Court last week.

The court heard she was driving in a silver Toyota Corolla along Emily Street, Lostock Hall, when an accident happened at the junction with Leyland Road on August 13 last year.

It is alleged she failed to look properly and give way to a man riding a bike along Leyland Road.

The cyclist suffered injuries including two fractured ribs, ligament damage to right knee and bruising to neck.

Edwards pleaded not guilty to driving without due care and attention, and will appear for trial on May 1.
