Brig have six appeal

Bamber Bridge 6 Clitheroe 0

THE QED stadium can be an unforgiving ground for a goalkeeper and it was a tale of three stoppers on Tuesday night.

Clitheroe’s No 1 Zac Hibbert had to retire injured with the game only nine minutes old after a collision with striker Greg Johnstone.

He was replaced by former Brig midfielder Darren Green and it was not long before he was picking the ball out of his net when Greg Johnstone looped a shot into the goal.

Six minutes later, Brig keeper Lee Dovey dislocated his finger but managed to stay on the pitch.

On 21 minutes, Chris Marlow latched on the end of a cross by Danny Mahoney and there were further goals by Alistair Waddecar and John Cass before the interval.

Cass grabbed a brace on 58 minutes and then before the final whistle Marlow wrapped up the win in style going on a mazy run before firing home.
