Bamber Bridge 0 Salford 3

BAMBER Bridge surrendered their unbeaten record in the league as they failed to get out of first gear.

Liam Coyne went close after just four minutes heading just wide from a corner-kick and it seemed to set the tone for the game as the hosts were forced to defend resolutely.

At the other end, Alistair Waddecar was the shining light after he watched his shot being saved at full stretch by City goalkeeper Andy Robertson.

The back three Luke Atherton, Michael White and stopper Lee Dovey worked tirelessly to keep out the visitors but the deadlock was broken on 51 minutes when winger Adam Morning fired home.

Brig went close to getting back on level terms in the 69th minute when Danny Mahoney fired just beyond the goalpost following good work by Greg Johnstone down the right.

However, that was as good as it got for Neil Crowe’s side when defender Coyne headed home a corner kick on 79 minutes.

The win was sealed with one minute left as striker Gavin Salmon reacted quickest to a rebound off keeper Dovey.
