Bamber Bridge were on the receiving end of a last-minute goal as they drew 2-2 against Prescot Cables in the Evo-Stike North First Division at Irongate on Saturday.

Chris Marlow put Brig ahead in the 50th minute but Prescot hit back through a Conor McCarthy free-kick.

Brig thought they had snatched a deserved win as new signing Curtis Thompson, from Blackpool, scored in the final minute of normal time.

But in the fifth minute of added time, Prescot scored with the last kick of the game as Enzo Benn reacted quickest in a goalmouth scramble to break Brig hearts.

The first half was a game of very few chances with stand-in Brig goalkeeper Stuart Barton saving well early on.

Brig suffered a blow when former Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Thompson suffered an injury, which will see him ruled out for a number of weeks.

The second half had much more life to it, and Brig took the lead as Marlow slotted calmly past goalkeeper Nick Culkin.

Prescot then struck through an excellent free-kick from McCarthy despite claims of handball in the build-up.

Thomson then came on from the bench and made an instant impact going on a mazy run and finishing

well to seemingly seal the points.

Marlow was then sent off in extra time for a heavy challenge before Benn struck home with the last kick of the game to steal a point.
