Defending West Lancashire League champions Charnock Richard threw away a two-goal lead as they drew 3-3 against Slyne with Hest.
There were surprise changes made to the Charnock line up, with the most surprising being Ross O’Farrell preferred to Damian Dashti at right-back.
Carl Grimshaw and Danny Nolan missed early chances for the champions but the weather gave a helping hand for Charnocks opening goal.
After just five minutes, the Slyne left-back slipped in the corner and Nolan pounced on the loose ball to cross for Mark Woods, who made no mistake and headed into the back of the net.
The weather continued to be a nuisance and Liam Hayton then also fell over near the corner flag.
Slyne took advantage of the slip and Gordon Chalmers fired home from 12 yards out.
Despite the conditions, Charnock re-took the lead through Grimshaw.
Alex Porter hit a shot-cum-cross across goal and Grimshaw turned the ball home.
Charnock then grabbed their third through Nolan.
Nolan missed his first effort, but his follow-up shot saw the ball trickle into the back of the net.
But Slyne grabbed a goal on the stroke of half-time as Luke Bradley ran across the Charnock back line and headed in a cross.
The second half saw a much quieter start with neither keeper having much work to do.
But in the 65th minute, the referee pointed to the spot after Jimmy King handled in the area.

Both sides had chances to win, with Charnock missing efforts through Nolan and Grimshaw but there wasn’t to be a winner and the game finished 3-3.
n Euxton Villa drew 1-1 with Fulwood Amateurs in a game they felt they should have won.
The poor conditions gave Fulwood and early lead after goalkeeper Shaun Gibbs missed a punch.
The weather continued to dictate but Danial Hogg grabbed a deserved equaliser.
Euxton missed chances towards the end of the game but a 1-1 draw was the final result.
