The Coasters made it through to the first round proper of the FA Cup for the third time in their history as they overcame Barrow, one division above them in the National League.

The prized winner came from Dion Charles on the half hour and it means that AFC Fylde go into Monday night's draw at which stage League One and League Two sides come in.

Barrow were reduced to 10 men when Dan Pilkington was sent off for rash tackle on Matty Hughes.

It is the third win in a row by AFC Fylde against Barrow - gthey beat them twice in the league last season.

AFC Fylde's two previous meetings in the FA Cup round one were against Acccrington Stanley and Plymouth Argyle, both losses.
