Bamber Bridge boss Neil Crowe will be going all out for victory in tonight’s Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy fixture against Clitheroe.

The quarter-final tie will be at Brig’s Sir Tom Finney stadium and kick-off is 7.45pm.

Crowe is desperate for his players to get 90 minutes under their belts after Saturday’s away league match against Farsley was abandoned due to a frozen pitch.

“I definitely want to win this game, it’s a game I would like to get to the final in,” said Crowe.

“I’ll be playing my strongest team and everybody is available.

“Matt Mahoney managed to get 90 minutes under his belt while playing for a Nelson Development side.

“I know Clitheroe are up for it but I expect that we’ll have that bit more quality in our squad.”

One player that has drawn the plaudits is forward Stuart Vasey. The Preston-born forward was signed after impressing in the local leagues.

Vasey has the ability to play a number of positions across the front line and Crowe has hailed the tricky frontman.

He said: “Stu has been a very good addition to the squad.

“He always gives 100 per cent, he’s versatile and he’s settled in well.

“I have been really impressed by him and hopefully he continues to do well.”

But one player that will be missing from tonight’s fixture is Kieran Pickup.

Former Padiham forward Pickup is cup tied and will have to sit out the match.

Crowe said: “Kieran is a big loss, he’s done well since he’s come in, but we have a decent-sized squad and we have quality to replace him.”
