A late strike from Sam Joel earned Bamber Bridge a point at home to Lancaster City in a 2-2 draw in the NPL First Division North.

It had all started so well for Brig when Regan Linney gave them a fifth-minute lead at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.

But the Dolly Blues were level in the 29th minute when Gavin Clark netted for the visitors.

Lancaster looked on target to claim all three points when Ryan Winder put them ahead with just 13 minutes to go.

But Joel rescued Brig three minutes from time with a dramatic equaliser.

Elsewhere, hosts Clitheroe went goal crazy, hammering Droylsden 6-1.

Indeed, William Hasler-Cregg had given the Bloods a fifth-minute lead.

But Clitheroe hit back through Sefton Gonzales (12) and Scott Harries (32).

And after the interval, two goals apiece from Michael Hampson (56 and 90) and Jonathan Hession (67 and 71) completed the rout.

Kendal Town won 3-1 at Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Garry Hunter put Town in front after 52 minutes, and two minutes later Sam Bailey doubled their advantage.

Daniel Barrett (59) pulled one back for Railway.

But Jordan Connerton netted the third for Kendal.

In the FA Trophy second qualifying round, Burscough were 3-0 winners at Kettering Town.

All the goals came in the second half, with Will Jones, Paul Williams (penalty) and Nicholas Ryan on target.

Southport were comprehensively beaten at home by National League leaders Cheltenham Town 4-0.

The result was virtually settled within the first 13 minutes with an opening goal by Harry Pell, followed by two from Billy Waters.

The Sandgrounders had 10 corners in the first half but never posed any real threat, an Adam Blakeman free-kick saved by the keeper being the nearest they came to scoring.

A 54th-minute goal from Danniel Parslow sealed the victory for the Cotswold side, leaving Southport in 22nd position in the table.
