Preston North End have secured defender Calum Woods on a new two-year contract
The former Huddersfield Town star has been rewarded for a number of impressive display this season.
After starting the season out of the team, Woods has been an integral member of the North End defence which has kept six successive clean sheets.
The 28-year-old has made 14 appearances so far this season and is expected to feature once more on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers at Deepdale.
"I'm delighted to have signed a new deal with the club, and I'm looking forward to the next couple of seasons here," said Woods, whose new deal runs until the end of the 2017/18 season.
"Last year was brilliant for everyone and it was great to be a part of that, and we have a great group of lads and staff here.
"We are on a good run at the minute in a tough division, and hopefully we can continue that after the international break, starting on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers."
Manager Simon Grayson said: “Calum is the type of player that manager’s love to have in their squads. Wherever you ask him to play he will do a good job. Last season he played at left back at Wembley and already this season he has played at centre half and right back for us. We are delighted he has extended his stay and look forward to continuing to work with him.”
