Warrington started brightly and former Brig star Chris Thompson forced a save out of keeper Ben Hinchcliffe after seven minutes.
Striker Aaron Taylor and skipper Michael White almost opened the visitor’s account but keeper Paul Pritchard cleared the danger.
The hosts took the lead on 20 minutes when Gavin Salmon fired in a fine shot beyond the diving Hinchliffe and into the net.
It remained at 1-0 at the break and Brig came out for the second 45 minutes with a spring in their step.
Keeper Prichard was called upon to tip an Aaron Taylor effort over his crossbar on 49 minutes following a neat probing through-ball by Waddecar which had created a half-chance for the Brig striker.
Brig grew in confidence as the half progressed as Warrington seemed to run out of ideas.
With five minutes left on the clock, Alistair Waddecar hit a free-kick into the box and skipper White rose above the home defence and headed the ball into the net.
Both sides desperately strove for a winner in the dying minutes with Anthony Hickey heading narrowly wide from a Thompson free-kick for the Cheshire side in time added.
