Teenager Ravi Dhar took his first senior five-wicket haul as Euxton defeated Whalley and in turn extended their lead at the top of Section B in the Ribblesdale League.
Dhar, a member of the club’s Under 15s set-up, is the brother to former Chorley Cricket Club professional Gaurav.
Making only his second league first team appearance, Dhar returned figures of 6-57 off 14.5 overs.
Sam Tolley then scored an unbeaten 74 to ensure Euxton sealed a comfortable eight-wicket victory.
Euxton now lead Section B by nine points.
Bowling first at Balshaw Park, it was Dhar who stole the show with the ball.
His six scalps included the dismissal of Whalley opener and top scorer, James Galling, for 55.
Matthew Howarth (33) offered resistance in the middle order but he fell to the bowling of overseas amateur Francois Haasbroek.
Matthew Johnson (2-26) and Oliver Marsden (1-18) chipped in with wickets but it was left to Dhar to mop up the tail as Whalley were bowled out for 163.
Euxton were dealt an early blow in their run chase as skipper Andrew Winrow fell for a third ball duck.
But fellow opener Tolley produced a patient innings of 74 to help seal an Euxton victory.
Marsden (46) and Haasbroek (36 not out) were the other contributors in Euxton’s winning reply.
Brinscall’s rotten form continued as they were beaten by three wickets at Earby.
Liam Winstanley’s side were once again indebted to overseas amateur Lehann van Rensburg.
The South African top scored with 83 as Brinscall were bowled out for 182.
All-rounder Sam MacLachlan also hit 24.
With the ball van Rensburg took 4-60 off 16 overs as Brinscall went in the search of a victory.
But the usually reliable Lee Burgess struggled as his 12.5 overs went for 70 runs.
MacLachlan also leaked runs as his seven overs cost 47 runs.
The pair did share three wickets but an unbeaten 31 from Martin Windle saw the hosts chase the total with three wickets to spare.
On Saturday, Euxton host Earby at Balshaw Park, start time is 1.30pm.
Brinscall also have a home game as they welcome Oswaldtwistle Immanuel. Start time is also 1.30pm.
