Morecambe’s annual beachside spectacular, The Sandcastle Festival, returns this weekend for its seventh year with a host of fun family holiday activities.
The festival, on the resort’s seafront tomorrow and Sunday, features bubble fun, sand art workshops, donkey rides, mud-dipping with the RSPB and other children’s activities,
And at the heart of the event is the huge sandcastle competition on Morecambe’s award winning beaches in which hundreds of families compete to produce the most imaginative creations.

Cedric will chatting to fans, signing copies and giving a talk about his experiences on Saturday at 3.15pm. Seats must be booked through Morecambe Visitor Information Centre on 01524 582808.
Internationally renowned sand artists Sand in your Eye will return to create amazing sand sculptures and lead a huge castle building practice session on Saturday in the run up to the competition judging on Sunday.
There will be children’s entertainers, donkey rides, a vintage tearoom, music from Lancaster’s Batala Samba Band and more.
