A new adaptation of David Walliams’ celebrated novel Mr Stink is coming to Astley Park’s Walled Garden.

Being performed in the open air for the first time, Mr Stink is a sensitive and enchanting production, brought to life by Heartbreak Productions.

Heartbreak has tuned the novel to fit a summer setting, starting proceedings at a birthday party for Annabelle, the spoilt younger sister of the book’s heroine, Chloe.

Feeling alienated at home and at school, Chloe finds support from an unlikely source.

Watch this magical friendship transform the lives of those involved with friends, family, and a picnic in the Walled Garden on Saturday, August 29 at 5pm.

The cast mingle with the audience before the performance begins, playing traditional party games, and there are opportunities for audience interaction throughout making for a more relaxed atmosphere than traditional indoor theatre visits.

Children will love being a ninja turtle, taking part in the egg and spoon race and sniffing Mr Stink’s stink bombs, while adults can enjoy the laugh-out-loud humour and jibes aimed at the establishment.

Tickets, costing £10 for adults, £7 for concessions and children, or £30 for a family, can be bought at Café Ambio in Astley Park, or by calling 01257 515151.
