Popular party band The Deadbeats are back in action next weekend at The Shovels on Common Edge Rd.
But it’s no ordinary show – the band are expanding their usual five man guitar-based line up to eight for one night only, teaming up with Manchester’s The Well Swung Horns for two sets of funky party hits and soul classics.
The Deadbeats are well-known for their hit-filled, high-energy, high-volume performances of past and present floor-fillers from across all genres of music, and have a large and lively following on the Fylde coast and beyond.
Friday’s gig with The Well Swung Horns (who usually play with Robbie Williams’ best mate Jonathan Wilkes in The Well Swung Big Band) came about when a client asked if they could add a brass section for a charity ball.
The Deadbeats are due to play in Yorkshire this Saturday. The guys then talked them into giving the line-up a public airing locally and got in touch with The Shovels.
“Expect all the usual party hits with a few more funk and soul classics thrown in – it’s going to be a blast and we can’t wait!” says frontman Dave Byrne. The Deadbeats will also be returning to Jean Stansfield Park in Poulton on July 17 for “The Big Gig” featuring many other local bands and artists, details of which will be revealed nearer the time.
The Deadbeats featuring The Well Swung Horns are live onstage this Friday at The Shovels around 9.15pm.
Entrance is free.
