Preston band Johnny 5th Wheel & The Cowards play a free gig in the city next week.
The group, which offers an experimental mixture of psych, folk and pop, plays the Mad Ferret on Thursday, September 12.
They will be supported by Matthew Cogley and the show starts at 8pm.
They released their second album through Sotones Records in late 2012.
The album entitled‘Music To Shake’n’Shuffle To is described as an “utterly splendid collection of psych-baroque-folk-pop-whateverness.
“It would be near impossible to place the band’s latest album within the confines of one single genre, so a concoction of poppy, doo-woppy, jazzy folk should suffice.
“Matt Cogley (from Preston) is influenced by the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Radiohead to Bon Iver and Ben Howard.
“His debut EP shows a diverse mix of songs with a focus on strong melody to stripped back vocal ambience.”
Later in the Month, on Thursday, September, the band plays London.
