Celebrated Russian violinist Alina Ibragimova plays Parbold Village Hall on Saturday May 10 to close Douglas Music’s 40th anniversary season.

Alina, who has played with orchestras all over the world, arrives in Lancashire after a two-day residency at the Royal College of Music.

She is renowned for playing with what seems total abandon and yet remains in total control, and critics believe she is destined to be a star in the classical firmament for decades to come.

Born in Russia in 1985, Alina studied at the Moscow Gnesin School before moving with her family to the UK in 1995 where she studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and Royal College of Music.

At Parbold she will play the Six Violin Sonatas by one of the greatest violinists of all time, Eugène Ysaÿe. Admired by his contemporaries as a player, teacher and composer, Ysaÿe associated with many leading composers of the day, including Saint-Saëns and Debussy.

Tickets are £15 (£5 students and young persons). For more information visit or call the box office on 01257 498452 or 01257 462382.
