It’s the birthday party of everyone’s favourite puppy and all his fans are invited to the celebration at
Lancaster Grand Theatre this week.

For the first time in eight years, the acclaimed
children’s musical show, Spot’s Birthday Party, is back on stage and visits the Grand on Tuesday and Wednesday June 4 and 5.

This revival of David Wood’s adaptation of Eric Hill’s classic children’s story, aimed at children aged two and upwards, arrives for three shows, two matinees and a morning performance.

Youngsters are encouraged to arrive at the theatre dressed for a party and even to bring their own home-made birthday card for Spot.

All of Spot’s friends will also be there, including Steve the Monkey, Helen the Hippo and Tom the Crocodile plus Spot’s mum and dad, Sally and Sam. And there will even be a special guest appearance from Marco the Rabbit

This musical play premieres David Wood’s reworking of his original production of Spot’s Birthday Party.

David, described by BBC Radio 4 as “simply the most popular children’s dramatist there is”, has taken Eric Hill’s characters and woven them into a colourful musical
entertainment that both
entertains and educates.

He is the UK’s premiere children’s playwright and has adapted The Gingerbread Man, The BFG, The Tiger Who Came To Tea and The Meg and Mog Show.

Matthew Tanner stars as Spot and children and parents are invited to join in the fun with music and songs, games and stories.

Tickets are still available for all shows, priced at £10 or £12 from the Lancaster Grand box office on 01524 64695 or online www.lancastergrand.co.uk.
