There’s another chance to catch a stage version of popular BBC sitcom The Vicar of Dibley at the Grand in Blackpool, every night from tonight until Saturday.
The Poulton Drama show received rave reviews and performed to sell-out audiences at Thornton Little Theatre in November.
Two cast members – Laura Cullen (Alice Tinker) and Garry Houghton (Owen Newitt) – won National Operatic and Dramatic Association award nominations for their performances.
Life in the sleepy Oxfordshire village of Dibley is turned upside down when the ancient Rev Pottle dies and the diocese sends new-fangled female Vicar Geraldine Granger as his replacement.
Landowner David Horton, is appalled and when it becomes clear the cheerful, new, chocolate-loving vicar does not intend to play second fiddle, he resolves to have her removed.
The amateur production has been neatly adapted from Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer’s hit TV series.
Tickets £13, concs £11, 7.30pm, Saturday matinee 2pm. Box office: 01253 74 33 39 or www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
