Tickets are now on sale for people to see professional grumpy old woman Jenny Eclair in action at Chorley Little Theatre.

Jenny, who has also starred in ITV’s Loose Women and went to school in Lytham, will take to the stage at the Little Theatre on October 8.

But fans can catch up with Eclair a little sooner, on Saturday night, when she appears in The Return of The Grumpy Old Women at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood.

The 55-year-old has been a familiar face on the nation’s TVs for more than 25 years.

After an early appearance as a German hotel worker in Auf Wiedersehen Pet, she starred in ITV cop soap The Bill and appeared in early 90s Channel 4 comedy series Packet of Three with Frank Skinner, as well as the follow-up series Packing Them In.

In 1995, she became the first female solo winner of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s Perrier Comedy Award.

In 1997, she played ‘Josie’ in the stage play ‘Steaming’.

In 2001, Eclair published her first novel ‘Camberwell Beauty’. A further four books have followed and Eclair has graced national radio waves on a number of occasions, too.

But she is best known for her role in the BBC’s show Grumpy Old Women.

The show, which is on October 8, is titled How To Be A Middle Aged Woman (Without Going Insane).

She will put middle age under the microscope and will decide whether or not to laugh, cry or buy a dachshund.

Tickets £17.50 can be bought from Malcolm’s Musicland. Tickets for The Return of Grumpy Old Women on Saturday, April 11, cost £18 and can be bought from the Marine Hall on 01253 887693.
