Ever imagine how those comedy legends Eric and Ernie would be performing if they were still with us?
What would be their take on the topics of the modern age? There is a chance to find out this weekend when the show Morecambe and Wise Rebooted comes to Lytham’s Lowther Pavilion.
It features Max Martin and Dave Short as the star duo, and is written by Martin and Mike Pannell, who asked themselves, if Eric and Ernie were still around now, what sort of sketches and routines would they be performing?
Max and Mike came up with a script which is not only topical but stays true to the format with which we are all familiar – a flat sketch, crosstalk, star guests and of course ‘The Play Wot Ernie Wrote’.
A mobile phone routine, a magic sketch that could have come straight out of the Harry Potter books and Eric’s attempts to be James Bond bring ‘Rebooted’ right up to date.
A show for all ages, not just fans of Morecambe and Wise, it is at Lowther Pavilion on Sunday at 7.30pm. Ticket details from the box office on (01253) 794221.
