Helen Mirren’s famous portrayal of Her Majesty the Queen is beamed live to Lancaster Dukes Theatre this Thursday.
The showing of her play, The Audience, in which she made headlines when she harangued a group of drummers dressed as the monarch after they disturbed a performance, is part of the NT Live project.
The scheme brings world class drama direct from the stage of London’s National Theatre out to further flung areas.
Under director Stephen Daldry, Mirren reprises her Academy Award winning role as The Queen in this drama.
Unfortunately, as with almost all the NT Live screenings which have taken place at the Dukes, all tickets for this showing are sold out.
However, there will be later recorded encore screenings from Saturday, June 15 to Saturday, June 22 for which tickets are still available at £13 or £12 on 01524 598500 or online at www.dukes-lancaster.org.
