Shakespeare’s immortal tragedy Romeo and Juliet comes to a pub near you next Wednesday.
Preston’s riverside Continental venue hosts two performances by Black Box Theatre Company of the most famous love story ever written.
Appearing as Juliet is Manchester School of Theatre trained Sarah Allen. Her credits include Jane (The Libertine), Agnes Eggling (A Bright Room Called Day), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) and Viola (Twelfth Night).
Sarah performed at last year’s Sam Wanamaker Festival at Shakespeare’s Globe and also competed for the Carleton Hobbs Radio Bursary and has recently worked with BBC Radio 4.
Opposite her Andrew Nance plays Romeo. He attended London Drama School and has since worked with Anvil Productions, Vivid Musical Theatre, the NYMT and NYT.
Mercutio and Benvolio, are played by Shawn John and Lois Crawford.
John appeared in the title role of Black Box’s recent tour of Othello.
Other credits include playing opposite Richard Harris in My Kingdom and starring in Fifteen Minutes that Shook the World playing Djibril Cisse.
Crawford recently graduated from LIPA. Her credits include, Lady Macbeth, Fabiana
Cunningham in Steven Adly Gurgis’s The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Jasmine in Mike Bartlett’s Earthquakes in London.
