Five great comedy stars are launching the St George’s Day Festival with a night of top-line comedy in the Grand Marquee on Lytham Green on April 21.
Headlining the evening will be Canadian comedian Stewart Francis, who has been a regular on television’s Mock the Week, Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow and Live at the Apollo.
The Sunday Times praised his ‘perfectly crafted gags’ while The Guardian described his ‘brilliant comic brain’ and said he ‘cracks some of the best one-liners I’ve ever heard’.
Joining Stewart on the Green will be British Asian comedian Paul Chowdhry. Paul shot to fame in the mainstream of comedy following the release of a DVD of his Hammersmith Apollo show, ‘What’s Happening White People?’ which was subsequently aired on Channel Four Television no fewer than three times.
He has hosted Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week and has also appeared in Live at the Apollo.
He’s also an established actor appearing in films such as Swinging with the Finkels alongside Martin Freeman and Jerry Stiller; Colour Me Beautiful with John Malkovich and Rogue Trader with Ewan McGregor.
Ray Peacock, best known for The ParaPod and The Peacock and Gamble Podcast, a prolific writer and comic performer, will be the MC for the evening!
Joining these three comics are Alex Smith, emerging as one of the most exciting new acts on the circuit, and Steve Hall who has provided the support for Russell Howard on his sell-out national tours Adventures, Dingledodies and the 2009 arena tour Big Rooms and Belly Laughs
