All your favourite attractions will be returning with a wider variety of horticultural displays and trade stands. Afternoon recital at St Laurence’s Church, featuring Alison Davies (mezzo-soprano) and Brian Williams (baritone). Starts 3pm. Tickets: £5 (inc. refreshments); children go free.

PAID: Pond Dipping and Mini Beast Hunt, Longton, Friday, July 27

FREE: Free Guided Ramble, Fishwick Bottoms, Wednesday, July 25

Park at the Capitol Centre, near Vue Cinema for a prompt 10am start. This three to six mile walk covers nearby Fishwick Bottoms. Suitable clothing and comfortable footwear required.

FREE: Buckshaw Monthly Indoor Market, Buckshaw Village, Sunday, July 29

​Held on the last Sunday of each month inside Buckshaw Village Community Centre, with a great variety of stalls. Open from 1.45pm-until 5.30pm. Admission free.
